Cinemagic is an international film festival for young people based inBelfast,Northern Ireland.  It was established in 1989 and over the last 25 years it has developed a worldwide reputation for excellence in children’s and youth programming and is currently the largest children’s film festival in theUnited KingdomandIreland. The festival funded by Northern Ireland Screen supported by DCAL includes international film screenings, movie premieres, film education programmes, industry Q&As, filmmaking competitions and masterclasses in all aspects of the film and television industry.

Cinemagic is a competitive festival for:

Best feature and short film for a young adult audience as judged by a jury of young people aged 15 -18

Best feature and short film for a teenage audience as judged by a jury of young people aged 12 -14

Best feature and short film for a youth audience as judged by a jury of young people aged 8 -11

Best feature and best short film for a children’s audience as judged by a jury of young people aged 6 -7

Films made within the years 2012 – 2014 are eligible for competition. We are interested in all types of films and programmes for children and young people from preschool through to young adult.
