Cinemagic BFI Film Academy Open for Applications. Calling 16-19 year olds to apply by 29th September 2014

Cinemagic is delighted to announce that applications are now open for the acclaimed BFI Film Academy Network Programme for 2014/2015. Committed, talented 16-19 year olds are invited to apply by 29th September.

 

The programme equips young filmmakers, passionate about film, with the knowledge, skills, insight, confidence and practical training to help lay strong foundations for their pursuit of a career in the film industry. As aBFIFilmAcademyparticipant, students will get a valuable opportunity to work directly with filmmakers and take part in a series of masterclasses and workshops with a focus on a range of film disciplines including producing, directing, cinematography, sound and editing.

The initiative is a unique opportunity for young people passionate about working in film to engage with filmmakers and film professionals to develop their skills and give a valuable insight to the industry.”

 

Led by industry experts, theBFIFilmAcademycourses cover every area of the film industry, enabling young people to develop the commercial and cultural knowledge and skills to help make a career in film a reality.

TheBFIFilmAcademyforms a key part of the BFI’s ambitious plans to revolutionize film education for 5-19 year olds, a core aim of the BFI’s Film Forever five-year plan to support the future success ofUKfilm. Its funding partners include the Department for Education inEngland, which has provided £3m for the programme, with the National Lottery, Creative Scotland and Northern Ireland Screen this year working with the BFI to take the Academy to every nation of theUK. Strategic partners include BAFTA, Pinewood Studios and Creative Skillset, helping to ensure the Academy is a gold standard film industry-focused educational programme.
