A BBC Radio Ulster Appeal on behalf of Marine Society & Sea Cadets

Sea Cadets allows thousands of young people between 10 and 18 across the UK to fulfil their potential

It helps them to develop new skills, gain confidence and to get the best possible start in life. Not only can young people gain valuable knowledge in teamwork and leadership, but  they can also work towards certificates and qualifications in any of the Sea Cadet’s accredited courses.

You don’t need to have had previous sailing experience to become a Sea Cadet. All of that training and support is available from the charity. And the activities available are pretty wide-ranging - from powerboating on the open sea, to kayaking down rivers, first aid training, classroom-based courses and learning, rock climbing and band practice.

Sea Cadets work, play and learn together, and they have experiences to last a lifetime.

You can find out about how to get involved with the Sea Cadets here or by email [email protected]

Information about Sea Cadets’ activities and opportunities are also available on Facebook  and You Tube
