Art of living foundation steps into Northern Ireland
On Jan 24th 2010, Northern Ireland witnessed a unique and transformative event.
It is not presumptious to say that the Health and Happiness workshop conducted by Dushyant Savadia,an international teacher, Art of Living, enabled a metamorphosis in the participants. It was a power-packed workshop which provided the participants with practical tools to attend to all levels of existence-body, breath and mind.
The participants were treated to a range of physical exercises with synchronized breath rhythms which led to an invigorating effect on them. A calmer mind anchored in the present, energetic body and a glowing smile –the priceless attributes that anyone would yearn for –are the riches that the enthusiastic participants were in possession of. It was a “breath-taking” experience for the 150 plus participants-an eclectic mix of various nationalities, professions and age groups- when they realized the ubiquitous connection between the breath and the mind. An acclaimed teacher Dushyanth Savadia disseminated the rare knowledge about Yoga, profound impact of breath among many other things, with his trademark wit and humor.
To quote the experience of Dr. Shaleen Singhal , lecturer - Ulster University,
“The health and happiness workshop was a wonderful experience that beautifully integrated the poetry of deeper knowledge with endeavour for calmness. It is indeed an initiative that will add new energy to ongoing efforts by the people of Northern Ireland in creating exemplars of stress free and peaceful life for happiness”.

First ever Art of Breathing course in Northern Ireland
The masterpiece of the the Art of Living Course is a powerful breathing-based technique called “Sudarshan Kriya”, or the healing breath. One of the breath's great secrets is that for every feeling or emotion there is a corresponding rhythm in the breath. Sudarshan Kriya incorporates specific natural rhythms of breath to release stress and bring the mind to the present moment.
To enable the enthusiasts to dive deep into the perennial sea of inner bliss -that the participants had a glimpse during the H&H workshop, Art of Living conducted their first Part 1 course in Northern Ireland on 27-28 feb ‘10 which offered the practical wisdom of how to live gracefully in a stressful world, and also the deep spiritual experience necessary to put that knowledge into action. Regular practice of the techniques and knowledge of this course ensures a strong healthy body and a relaxed stress free mind. Here are the experiences of some of the participants in their own words:
A totally amazing experience, which has made a huge impact on my life. I feel like I am beginning to waken from a long sleep and no longer feel alone or paralysed with shame and guilt of my past or terror and dread of my future. I met the most wonderful people who I feel I could call my friends. I feel that my experience of the course is but the beginning for me. I didn't know what to expect from the course, I just said I would keep an open mind. I am glad I had no expectations because what I received was beyond my wildest dreams. Warmth, acceptance and the wisdom from others which has taught me to appreciate the now and to search only for the truth of myself. Thank you. - Angie
Wow...moving, refreshing, invigorating...challenging and thought provoking. I've told my whole family about it in NZ and now mum is going to do part one. Every human being would greatly benefit in someway from this course and this approach to life. I am really enjoying my kriya now and I am feeling great, I have so much more energy. -Rachel
I really enjoyed the course and it made me think a lot about life.
Overall, very good. The people on the course and all the people involved in giving the course were extremely nice and this made it a worthwhile experience for me. I am privileged to know such people. I am very interested in breathing and learning more about it. - Anne-marie
