2015 GSK IMPACT Awards - deadline for applications 19 September

The GSK IMPACT Awards provide core funding, training and national recognition for charities that are doing excellent work to improve people’s health. Up to 20 awards will be made ranging from £3,000 to £40,000.

Northern Ireland based Aware Defeat Depression, was one of the ten award winners last year, for their work helping to increase understanding of how to prevent mental illness and support people with depression in their recovery. Siobhan Doherty Chief Executive of ADD said ‘Being winners of a GSK Impact Award is an incredible accolade for us. We are extremely proud and grateful for the opportunities the GSK Impact Award has given us.’

You do not need to present a new project as the application focuses on what you have already achieved. To be eligible you must have been operating for at least three years, be a registered charity, have income between £25,000 and £2 million and be working in a health related field in the UK.

Winning organisations will have a professional film made, receive support with press and publicity and will be given a set of promotional materials. They will also be offered two places on the GSK IMPACT Awards training programme. In 2015 there will be three days of training leading up to the high profile GSK IMPACT Awards ceremony at the Science Museum. After this participants will be invited to join the wider GSK IMPACT Awards Network. This connects past award winners both online and at meetings held across the UK, to get and give support, share best practice and continue their professional development.

The training and development is valued at up to £6,000 for each organisation. Many participants have commented that the training, the new ideas and enthusiasm that they take away, and the connections made with the wider group of GSK IMPACT Award winners, is even more important than the award money.
