JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the development and delivery of Fermanagh Rural Community Initiative’s (FRCI), Fermanagh Youth Development Programme
MAJOR DUTIES:
1. In line with FRCI’s Fermanagh’s Youth Development programme, reaching target audience to recruit eligible participants for delivery
2. Develop platform for greater understanding and acceptance of diversity within and between communities thereby reducing sectarianism.
3. Increase skills base and future employment prospects of “At Risk” young people leading to economic prosperity
4. Increase Personal Development of participants joining programme
5. Provide opportunities for level 3 qualifications for participants who have skills and abilities to progress
Planning and Organising:
1. Plan and prioritise own workload, and that of the clerical support staff, to meet both internal deadlines and those of external organisations in relation to FRCI’s Fermanagh’s Youth Development programme
2. Produce plans and reports for Co-ordinator on regular basis
3. Review and monitor the outcome of related activities.
4. Support the planning, organising and delivery of workshops and presentations to a range of group involving young people.
5. Plan and organise events involving external parties.
6. Deliver in-house training
7. Assist in the development of meaningful targets and assessing the output and impact of activities.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Youth Work
2. Minimum of two years’ experience in similar or related role(s).
3. Experience which can be shown to be directly applicable to the responsibilities of this post to include: • Working in support, advice or guidance capacity. • Working in a role to empower people. • Development and delivery of programmes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
4. Excellent ICT skills including word processing, database design and management, and spreadsheets, report writing.
5. Deliver job-search activities
6. Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
7. Ability to communicate with and relate to people at all levels both internally and externally.
8. Ability to devise and deliver presentation/facilitate events to a wide range of audiences.
9. Ability to work on own initiative.
10. Ability to work as part of a team.
11. Ability to work under pressure and to deadline.
12. Good organisational abilities.
13. Requirement to work flexibly, to include occasional weekends, evenings and overnight residentials.
14. Full driver’s licence, access to own transport or otherwise meet the mobility requirements of the post.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
1. Evidence of delivery of positive outcomes.
2. Experience of developing targets and evaluating the outputs and impact of activities.
