Youth Development Worker - Project funded by BBC Children In Need until Jan 2019. Salary: £23,032 + Pension 1% employer and 1% worker contributions Post may be continued subject to securing further 3 year funding.

Summary of post:

To oversee phase 2 of Lurgan YMCA’s unique ‘Youth Development Programme’ to disadvantaged and ‘at risk’ young people in the local area. The role involves developing and delivering mainstream and adventure activities to our target groups including a dedicated youth programme for young people with learning disabilities programme (‘YES’ Programme) 

To create, deliver and evaluate developmental youth programmes to meet pre-set outcomes that will make a positive difference to the personal and social development of our disadvantaged target groups. Specifically within the following four areas:

• Adventure education – developing and delivering adventure to all our target groups.
• Learning and creativity – using experiential and creative methodologies of learning.
• Programme development with young people with disabilities – mainly learning disabilities.
• Mainstream youth provision development – both centre and outdoor based.
