Young Women’s NEETS Engagement Officer

Empowering Young People Programme is funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The programme is designed to support young people aged 16 – 24 years who are not in education, employment or training. The CREATE Project is specifically aimed at young women.

Main Purpose of Job

  • To lead, develop and coordinate the Empowering Young People Programme in South Belfast including recruitment and mentoring.
  • To establish and deliver training and drop in opportunities for example pre vocational training and employability workshops.
  • To work with young women in a variety of settings including work one to one and group work and to provide advice and guidance and referral to employability/college liaison service.
  • Liaise with BSCR line manager to manage the Project budget, and carry out all theadministrative requirements. This will encompass targeting young women who are not in education employment or training and retaining them until they achieve a positive outcome.
  • To help design, develop and manage the project marketing strategies in conjunction and TWN ltd, by disseminating information, writing advertisements, articles, and press releases and liaising with the media and key stakeholders.
  • To attend project steering groups and best practice groups as required.
  • To be the main point of contact and establish and develop good working relationships with the regional project partners and external organisations relevant to the Project.
  • To plan and manage the day to day operational and administrative activities associated with the exhibitions, seminars, workshops and training;
  • To prepare and compile the production of reports and guidebooks for internal and external publication;
  • To contribute to all aspects of team working and to liaise with relevant staff with regard to facilitating and promoting the Project and to promoting BSCR and TWN Ltd
  • To undertake the duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation of BSCR and TWN Ltd;
  • To prepare written reports, monitoring and evaluation as directed by the Project funder and BSCR. Ensure all monitoring is relevant and accurate and stored in the Cloud. 
  • To be responsible for retaining statistical and evaluative information
  • To undertake such other relevant duties as may from time to time be required.
