Welfare Advice Officer
Job No 281 (37 hours p/w)
Salary NJC scales 4/5/6/SO1 points 20 – 29 £19,430– £25,951 per annum and essential car user allowance
Based at our office in Holywood

You must have:

• Educated to A level standard or equivalent Level 3 qualification;
• IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel and PowerPoint;
• At least 1 years’ experience in the last 3 years of delivering welfare benefits and money advice;
• Access to private transport for business use;
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
• Knowledge of current housing benefit and welfare rights legislation policy and practice;
• Experience of building networks and liaising with other agencies.

Desirable criteria:

• Experience of delivering training;
• Knowledge of social housing;
• Ability to write and develop strategies, policies and procedures;
• Citizens Advice Advisor Training programme or Law Centre NI WRAP qualification;
• Evidence of vocational training/requirements.
