Trustee
Niamh are seeking to appoint outstanding and talented Trustees to supplement our existing board. Our strategy is to place Niamh at the forefront of mental health and learning disability service delivery, policy and practice.
The key responsibilities will be to provide leadership, and to drive the development of our strategy. You will also be expected to engage successfully with key stakeholders, influencers and those who commission our services.
Skills and Experience
You will be committed to, and passionate about the vision that is core to Niamh of mental health and wellbeing for all. You will bring to this a strong value base, professional experience and exceptional networking and influencing skills to promote the mission of Niamh, both locally and nationally.
Credibility with Niamh’s stakeholders must be a key attribute of a Trustee along with demonstrable integrity.
It is desirable for Trustees to have knowledge of mental health and/or learning disability service provision and/or Specialist knowledge in one or a few of the following:
Commercial Business Development, Senior Business Management, Strategy Development, Legal Matters, Clinical Psychology/Psychiatry, Social Work, Public Health, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Older People’s Services, Marketing & PR, Public Policy
Niamh is committed to the involvement of those with experience of mental illness or learning disability, or those with experience of caring for someone with a mental illness or learning disabilities, at all levels within the organisation. We would therefore particularly welcome applications from those with these experiences.
Terms of Appointment, Time Commitment and Remuneration
- Trustees must commit to giving time to Niamh’s activities including attendance at Board Meetings, additional committees and supplementary panels – this is likely to be at least 8 days per year.
- The Term of appointment is three years in the first instance.
- Trusteeship is not remunerated, however all reasonable expenses will be covered.
