Transition Officer for Deaf Roots and Pride Project

The British Deaf Association (NI) is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly organised individual for our ‘Deaf Roots & Pride’ project.

The post is funded by the Big Lottery Fund

The Transition Officer will be responsible for working with the Deaf Roots and Pride team to assist with the development and implementation of the Transition programme. Candidates must have experience in creating and delivering bespoke training. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of Transition training, within the Deaf Roots and Pride Project and will work closely with schools, Education Boards and other Deaf organisations to support young Deaf people between the ages of 8-20 years. 

Successful candidates will have an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of Deaf Issues and experience of working closely with the local Deaf Community. Candidates should have experience of managing projects, budgets and reporting back to the funding body. 

Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to use their initiative.
