Sports Development Officer: Based at Central Office, Belfast.

The Sport Development Officer will be a crucial member of a programme team which is tasked with organising and developing a diverse programme of youth sports, competitions and events to an extensive network of 150 local youth clubs and youth organisations throughout Northern Ireland.

 The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in the design and delivery of successful programmes of youth sports and physical activities, a sound knowledge of youth support networks and the organisation and delivery of sports & physical activity programmes for young people and those who work on their behalf.

 A third-level qualification in sport, youth work or related discipline is essential for this post, as is a successful track record of achieving effective results within a sport, community, youth work or educational setting.  A qualification in an adventure sport and experience of delivering outdoor education programmes would be desirable. 

 Completed application forms must be received by Boys & Girls Clubs no later than 4.00pm Monday 23th October 2017. Late applications cannot be accepted.

 It is anticipated that interviews for this Post will be held on Thursday 26th October 2017.


 Starting Salary:       £21,467 (JNC Scale Point 11 - Pro-rata 28 hours)

Term:                   A one-year fixed term (subject to review)
