Sessional Tutors required for OCN NI Level 2 Award in Peer Mentoring Practice (QCF) 601/3330/2

Youthlife provides support for children and young people aged 5-25 who have experienced bereavement and loss.  Our programme includes 1:1 Counselling, Group work programmes and peer mentoring opportunities. We are currently developing a register of sessional tutors to deliver accredited Peer Mentoring Practice qualifications within the organisation. The classes will be carried out in our centre and will be delivered between October 2016 and December 2017. 

Role:  Tutor for OCN NI Level 2 Award in Peer Mentoring Practice (QCF) 601/3330/2

To be responsible for the delivery and assessment of this qualification in accordance with requirements laid down by the Awarding Organisation, our Youthlife protocols and the PHA training standards.  

Those delivering this training must be qualified to Level 3 in YouthWork. Tutors will also have at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy or GCSE English.

In accordance with Youthlife and Public Health Agency standards, all applicants must have the facilitation skills to manage a group and any issues which may arise. Tutors must be aware of the impact that their personal experiences of bereavement and loss and the personal experiences of young people can have on a programme such as this. Those delivering the training must be able to demonstrate that they can manage their personal experiences in the training environment and be able to identify how they would deal with self-disclosure among young people to ensure safeguarding. All applicants must provide two references, one of which should be from a recent employer who can verify that you can meet this criteria.
