Helping Hands Autism Support Group

The main purpose of the job is to support children/ young people (age 5-11) in BHSCT area with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a variety of settings to promote independence, inclusion and positive behaviour.

Helping Hands Short break programme means that children and young people with a diagnoses of ASD, can enjoy and experience activities that they are interested in with the support of a skilled Short Break Worker who will spend allocated hours either within the home or on outings that have been agreed with the family. 

Would suit classroom assistants, or those wishing to gain more skills and knowledge of working with children with special needs.

Families will be mainly from the Belfast and Castlereagh Area, therefore own transport may not be necessary if applicants live nearby or if public transport can be used.
