PURPOSE OF THE JOB               

  • To ensure customer retention through instilling an ethos of ‘delivering customer excellence’ in the front facing teams and to ensure that this ethos is reflected throughout the company.

  • To manage, motivate, monitor and inspire a small multifunctional team of staff to retain and attract new business.

  • To develop new and penetrate existing markets through personal selling of the exciting range of products and services.

  • To manage and develop a CRM (customer relationship management) system, ensuring accurate data capture from the public, private, community, voluntary and education sectors.

  • To contribute to the marketing function of the facilities and to the growth and expansion of the business.

  • To achieve significant financial targets to ensure this social enterprise can become profitable.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To grow the current levels of earned income across all revenue streams by targeting existing and potential customers.

  • Develop personal relationships with key decision makers across all markets to ensure an increase in awareness of the Colin Glen offering and also our unique selling points.

  • To achieve sufficient growth in turnover to ensure that Colin Glen can not only continue to operate but can become self sustaining and also generate sufficient revenue to allow for future investment.

  • Responsible for liaising and negotiating with clients and potential clients on packages and costs to secure business.

  • Undertake client relationship management, ensuring satisfaction and generating repeat business.

  • Developing the customer database (and potential customers, e.g. schools, businesses, groups, voluntary and community organisations, sports clubs) and ensuring regular updates are sent to all customers and gathering and analysing feedback on a regular basis.

  • Working in partnership with other managers to ensure all leads are followed up and that all sales opportunities are handled efficiently and effectively to maximise sales.

  • To devise, implement and regularly monitor a program of prospecting amongst a select team of staff ensuring accurate and timely follow up as well as strong motivation and leadership.

  • To support the Management Team ensuring that the financial performance of the business areas meet their targets and to develop and implement a plan of action to offset any seasonal related short comings.

  • To assist with the roll out of existing and new products and services to the various markets.

  • To be responsible for gathering KPI (key performance indicators) and meeting deadlines for providing quarterly and annual reports to the CEO for the purposes of fulfilling our funding obligations and ensuring accurate reporting to the Board, Auditors, Charity Commission and any funders or potential funders.

  • To ensure that the customer sales team effectively communicate with all customers and achieve optimum data capture.

  • To ensure that the Customer Service Teams achieve specific targets relating to up selling and cross selling and identify and rectify any problems they may have with the selling process.

  • To set an agenda and arrange a weekly sales team meeting, where members of the management team and front facing teams come together to report on what has been achieved and plan on the vital next steps and resolve any problems that may arise.

  • To liaise with those involved in marketing to ensure that the campaigns reflect the sales need of the organisation.

  • To undertake other duties commensurate with the status of the post as required by the CEO.

     
     

 

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples on the application form, that they have at least 3 years experience in each of the following:

 

  1. Staff Leadership

  2. Exceeding targets

  3. Financial and budgetary awareness and understanding

  4. Customer/client relationship management & development

  5. Excellent Organisational Skills

  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  7. Proficiency in IT in particular Microsoft applications

  8. Must hold a full clean driving licence and have access to a form of transport, which is insured for work purposes.

     

    DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  1. To have worked within a business to business sales environment

  2. Experience in developing and promoting a business.

  3. Experience in being responsible for increasing sales turnover

  4. Experience in marketing and using social media for marketing purposes

  5. Experience in event management

APPOINTMENT

  • The post is subject to a six month probation period.

  • The above post will be filled on a permanent basis.

  • The salary range is negotiable.

  • The package will include an element of commission and bonus.

  • In addition to the usual public, there will be an annual leave allowance of 20 days.

  • The normal working week is 40 hours including meal breaks.  However, as part of the normal contract of employment, appointees will be required to work whatever hours and time is required to achieve the targets.

  • Following a successful probation period, one month’s notice must be given by the successful candidate, in writing to terminate employment.
