Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. Reasonable hours outside of this may be required to fulfil the duties of this position
Leave: 20 days plus 12 statutory days

Probation: This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period. The Company reserves the right to extend this probationary period.

Job purpose
The post holder will oversee the management and further development of the award winning restore social enterprises and the supporting refurbishment projects. They will drive forward the development of new recycling projects, manage and oversee all recycling contracts, returns and evaluations, while actively seeking new opportunities to generate additional income.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Responsibility for the supervision, assessment, appraisal and support of staff and volunteers in the retail and recycling projects in accordance with East Belfast Mission’s policies and procedures
- To utilise the current ‘Management Information system’ to create efficiencies and maximise income
- To ensure efficient, effective and accountable administration of all systems within your area of responsibility
- To provide an effective customer focused service to all internal and external stakeholders
- To introduce, manage and evaluate systems and processes to improve performance in all areas of the projects to meet the changing needs of the business
- To identify new areas of income generation with the development and implementation of trial and innovative projects that will lead to an improvement in income
- To ensure the efficient collection and delivery of all stock
- Lead meetings and group discussions to facilitate your staff team and other working groups in solving problems and making decisions
- To ensure that all projects in your area of responsibility operate within income and expenditure budgets
- To ensure that all Financial and HR procedures are adhered to
- To oversee the management of the departments’ vehicles
- To pro-actively source new supplies of stock for retail units
- To establish and maintain networking relationships
- To take responsibility for own learning and development, and actively participate in available learning opportunities
- To ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and EBM’s policies and procedures
- Any other duties conducive to the effective operation of the post and deemed to be within the post-holder’s competencies

Significant previous experience of managing a multi-based team in a charity retail/social enterprise/retail environment
Proven business acumen and previous experience of developing new and existing business initiatives
Previous experience of managing, motivating and developing staff
Significant experience of working to tight deadlines and prioritising own workload with minimal supervision
Experience of working within a designated income and expenditure budget
Experience of managing volunteers
