Refugee Support Admin Assistant
Location: Belfast
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract, until April 2018
21 hours per week
Salary: GBP 13,650 per annum, pro rata


About the role

Administration Assistant posts are responsible for providing an efficient and reliable administrative support service. As a member of the Refugee Support team, the post holder will undertake a range of administrative and service support duties with particular focus on the administration of The Executive Office Crisis Fund for vulnerable migrants.

About the team
The Refugee support team provide a vital service to people in crisis resulting from their migration status by restoring family links and assisting people to regain control of their lives. You will provide administrative support to the Operations Manager in delivering the Executive Office Crisis Fund to at least 12 organisations across Northern Ireland and support the other activities of the Refugee Support team by providing admin and operational support including financial accounts by the end of April 2017.

About the person

  • Confident in using telephone systems, Microsoft packages & Outlook with the ability to create, amend and manipulate Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint applications
  • Outgoing with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to deal with queries in a diplomatic, professional and confidential manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work accurately, check documentation for  accuracy
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent by experience)
  • General administrative duties; incoming and outgoing mail, answering the telephone and using a simple switchboard, scanning, filing, meeting and greeting customers
  • Upholds the fundamental principles and acts with integrity, in accordance with the Society's values (inclusive, compassionate, courageous and dynamic).
  • Ensures inclusive practice and promotes diversity
