Through close ties and understanding of the needs of the community growing sector, FCFCG have co-produced a two-year programme of training and support for community gardens across Northern Ireland – called Growing Resilience.

This project will improve the long-term resilience of geographically dispersed growing groups, thereby contributing to the sustainability of vibrant local communities.

With funding from the Big Lottery Fund this role will deliver on the aims and objectives of the Growing Resilience project. The Project Officer will support delivery of the project, facilitating peer-to-peer skills sharing, and deliver training and support to community growers.

Networking between groups is key to mutual learning and development of services, and the Project Officer will play a key role in facilitating this, working with participating groups to develop and support a new country wide network, to build strengths, capacity and infrastructure.  The Project Officer will act as a key point of contact for the Growing Resilience groups.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar development role, of developing training and ongoing support to build capacity and skills, and will have an understanding of community development and managing a network.
