An excellent opportunity to join Sally Gardens youth and development team. The successful candidate will have the overall responsibility to develop and promote all aspects of youth provision based at Sally Gardens.

Hours of Work:                    

The working week will be for 37.5 hours to be worked flexibly to suit the demand of the programme as set out by the centre manager.  Evening & weekend work will be required.

Report to:                             

Centre Manager

Job Purpose:                        

To improve youth based opportunities, self-esteem, health and wellbeing of young people aged 5-18 years.

To provide training and support to young people who have barriers to education, training or employment basis.

Main Duties:

To deliver a comprehensive youth work model of practice to young people in the Colin area.

Develop and deliver programmes in line with programme outcomes and objectives. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

To actively recruit socially excluded vulnerable young people across the Colin area and integrate into youth based programmes.

To provide 1 to 1 mentoring to promote a holistic approach in education and training opportunities.

To evaluate programmes, including gathering statistics for recording and monitoring purposes. 

To develop and co-ordinate a volunteer programme.

To develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues including those within the youth club team, parents and other professionals involved with the programme.

Undertake targeted work with specific under-represented groups identified in the Colin area, such as core NEET & travelling community.

Liaise with advice and guidance services, increase awareness of local training opportunities, identify and respond to the training needs of young people.

To ensure any accidents/incidents are reported in line with the centres policies and procedures.

To support and promote equal opportunities.

To adhere to all of SGCC published policies and procedures.

Establish learner’s preferences in training, or job fields, providing job tasters where necessary.

To maintain records of all expenditure, funding, budgets and finance pertaining to the programme.

To perform other duties as required by management.
