Peripatetic Dementia Support Worker - Carer Information Support Programme (Northern NI)

Alzheimer’s Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Dementia affects over 800,000 people in the UK alone and numbers continue to grow.

We are looking for applicants who can provide information, support and sign posting of services to people with dementia and their carers through support/information visits, support groups and information programmes. The main focus of this post will be to facilitate our CrISP (Carer information Support Programme) to carers of people with Dementia within the Northern area. The successful candidate must have good facilitation skills and previous history of delivering information programmes.

In addition the individual will have an understanding of dementia, good organisation and time management skills and the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. A satisfactory disclosure from Access NI is required for this post. This post is based in Antrim but the successful candidate will be expected to deliver the CrISP programme in the Northern area.

You will possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience.  It is desirable that you have experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies.
