Outlook Project Worker

The Outlook Project Worker will provide personal care and transport to young people where necessary and this may include some manual handling tasks.

The Cedar Foundation wishes to recruit an Outlook Project Worker will enable young people to access a range of fun activities in their local area. It may be going to the cinema, attending a local youth club, supporting the young person in a sporting or other leisure activity.

Hours:                        20 Hours per Week (the majority of the service is delivered late afternoons and evenings)                   

Contract:                    Temporary Contract until 31st March 2016, initially

Location:                    Western Health & Social Care Trust – Northern Sector

Salary:                        3 point incremental scale starting on £17,714 pro-rata

 

Essential:                  

  • Basic qualification to NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Health & Social Care, Childcare
  • Minimum of 1 years paid experience of caring for or working with young people

OR

  • Basic qualification to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Health & Social Care, Childcare
  • Minimum of 6 months paid experience of caring for or working with young people
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Hold a full current driving license valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment.

This criterion will be waived in the case of a suitable applicant who has a disability which

prohibits them from driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements in

order to meet the requirements of the post in full.

 

Desirable:

  • NISCC Registration
  • Experience & understanding of young disabled people
  • Good working knowledge of IT, specifically Microsoft Word & Outlook
  • NVQ in Childcare or Health & Social Care
  • Awareness of RQIA & Domiciliary Regulations and Minimum Standards awareness
