Cheshire House is a supported living service for 18 adults with a range of physical disabilities and/or acquired brain injury. All of the people who use our service live within independently maintained flats.

Part time 16 hours - 4 hours a day for 4 days a week

 

You will be required to maintain the service premises both internally and externally, as well as the surrounding areas and gardens. You will also need to be able to assist the service manager and others in the provision of a range of services, carrying out duties for services users as requested. It is important that you can work in partnership with people who use the service, encouraging choice, participation, motivation, whilst adhering at all times to the values of the organisation.

 

The services you can be expected to carry out include routine maintenance and repair work to the fabric, fitting and fixtures of the service, as well as the upkeep of gardens and hedges. You may also be asked to carry out any minor repairs in the service and to individuals’ rooms as requested. As well as this you will be required to wash windows, move furniture and equipment as required, carry out portering as required, and the decoration of premises as requested by your line manager.

It is essential that you have good basic literacy and numeracy skills, and that you are willing to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the service.

You will also need to be willing to undertake required training, including updates, sometimes off-site and outside normal working hours.
