MindWise Intensive supported Housing (Carrickfergus)

  • MindWise intensive supported accommodation provides safe and supportive accommodation for 6 individuals with severe mental illness, 24 hours per day. 
  • The staff team consists of 12 members supported by effective line management through regular open communication methods. The service is progressive in its methods of identifying and meeting tenants needs with the service and in the wider community. The recovery ethos and principles underpin service delivery.

Supported Housing Service (Carrickfergus)

  • MindWise supported accommodation provides safe and supportive accommodation for 6 individuals with severe mental illness. Whilst the service aims to encourage tenants to live independently in their own home, staff are available to promote and support tenants to acquire skills and knowledge to recover a meaningful quality of life based on a user lead/tailored approach.
  • The service is supported by the team operating in the intensive supported housing service.

The services are progressive in their methods of identifying and meeting tenants needs with the service and in the wider community. The recovery ethos and principles underpin service delivery. They utilize a user lead/tailored approach in order to meet the specific needs of tenants and enable them to recover a meaningful quality of life.

The post holder will:

  • provide person centred recovery focused support to individuals in intensive and medium supported housing services.
  • ensure individuals can reach their highest personal potential.
  • support all individuals accessing MindWise services

Essential Criteria

  • Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 6 months experience of providing support to people with a severe mental illness either in a paid or voluntary position.

OR

  • Demonstrate a minimum of 1 years experience of providing support in another care setting.

OR

  • Demonstrate personal experience of having being affected by mental illness.

Knowledge of the main mental health diagnosis

Knowledge of working with multidisciplinary teams

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a check via the Access(NI) Service and the Independent Safeguarding Authority before commencement of employment. 

Willing and able to participate in a 24 hour rota including waking nights, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays.
