Apple Mews has been developed to provide care for up to 30 adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex physical disabilities.

House managers are the cornerstone of excellent resident care and people development in Apple Mews. Their can- do attitude and resilience underpins a culture where our residents flourish and careers develop.

 Our service is built on the Relationship Centred model of practice that values the importance of building meaningful relationships for residents, staff, families and professionals, together as partners in care. Residents live in small household bungalows, each having six residents. This small group environment offers our staff a genuine opportunity to provide care that is truly individual, and where the house manager can take best practice research from the page and make a reality in practice.

 The House manager leads a team of nurses and support workers in a household and ensures that their household evidences care and best practice to meet the RQIA minimum standards and safeguarding legislation. This includes planning staff rosters, mentoring and supervising staff, developing support plans and risk assessments tailored to individual resident need, safe medicines management,  and developing strong partnership relationships with families and other professionals to promote optimum physical and emotional wellbeing for residents. Excellent record management and quality control are key elements of the house managers duties.

 To fulfil this role you will need to be a qualified  Adult, Learning Disability or Mental Health  nurse on the live NMC register, and have a minimum of 4 years post registration experience. You will have a track record of delivering improvements in care and be up to date with clinical practice skills. You will have excellent communication skills and a flare for leadership.

Rate of pay for this role is £17.50/hour
