Homeless Support Officer

We are seeking to recruit suitably experienced individuals to join our dedicated support team providing accommodation based and floating support services to vulnerable homeless families. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality, customer care and support services including the management of temporary accommodation. In addition the post-holder will deliver housing support services through our floating support service.

Homeless Support Officers - Reference: HSO 12/14

Salary Range: £17,170 to £18,685 (Scale 3 – 4)

Hours: Full Time - 37 Hours per Week

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria;

•  Be educated to degree or HND/HNC with 2 years relevant experience providing support to vulnerable persons in a residential or community setting;
•  Have at least 5 GCSE’s or equivalent with 3 years relevant experience providing support to vulnerable persons in a residential or community setting;
•  Candidates with lesser qualifications but who can demonstrate 5 year’s or more relevant experience working with homelessness issues will also be considered;
•  Have a working knowledge of current homeless, housing and other related social issues;
•  Have a sound working knowledge of supported housing services;
•  Have experience and knowledge of client needs assessment systems;
•  Be able to demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative and as a member of a team;
•  Demonstrate sound ICT, interpersonal and communication skills (including report writing);
•  Have a clean driving licence and a suitable means of transport available
