Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Dementia affects over 800,000 people in the UK alone and numbers continue to grow.
We are looking for an individual to facilitate and arrange a range of weekly and monthly social activity groups in a safe and secure environment, offering appropriate support based on client need across the Northern Locality.
You will ensure that delivery is always high quality and that it is appropriate for people with dementia, their carers and families.
You will need to have good organisational skills and group facilitation skills. You will be a good communicator and have an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers.
The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with initiative and drive. A knowledge of or experience of Dementia would be an advantage. You must be able to travel independently and have the ability to transport materials and goods needed for the groups.
You will possess NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience. It is desirable that you have experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies. A qualification in facilitation skills is desirable.
The post is based in Antrim and you will be covering the Causeway, Mid Ulster, East Antrim and Antrim and Ballymena areas.
