  1. .      DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for allocation of Fleet cars.
  • Work Allocation – Plan and organise the maintenance of all company vehicles, ensuring that service and inspection intervals are adhered to.
  • Organise the team so that all repairs are carried out to the highest standards.
  • Carry out regular inspections on all fleet vehicles whilst mobile on the road
  • Create and maintain a good working relationship Area Managers, Team Leaders and professional bodies such as NFU (Company Insurers)
  • Manage fleet requests giving priority to areas so that the needs of the business can be met at all times and the vehicles can be fully utilised on profitable work for the company.
  •  Deal with all aspects of the company’s obligations to the Department of Transport including vehicle annual tests, record keeping and fleet inspections.
  • Ensure that you adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act and that any other employees entering the workshop conform to that legislation.
  • Budget management of all items involved in the running of the company fleet including staffing costs, fuel costs etc
  • Maximise efficiencies across all areas.
  • Maintain the stock system and ensure that any parts are the best value for money available at the time they are needed. Stock levels are not above the pre-agreed limits and all high value items are kept in a secure area.
  • Manage and maintain a balanced team to cover the workload and ensure that you have adequate breakdown cover at all times outside the working day.
  •  Advise the Directors on vehicle replacement and purchasing policies, displaying a sound knowledge of new vehicle types and vehicle related products. 
  • Along with mechanic deal with all warranty and vehicle manufacturer issues.
  • Full Driving Licence inc trailor test
  • Proactive mobile approach.
  • Be able to carry out roadside fleet check dealing with issues such as change tyres, oil, water, and air in tyres, fit bulbs.
  • Maintain Data Spreadsheet whilst mobile
  • Ensure MIDH – Insurance is kept up to date at all times
  • Prepare travel claims for both 4 weekly payment and monthly salaries
  • Prepare car deduction for both pay periods
  • Accident / Incident reporting & follow up
  • Manage Fleet management tracking high lighting issues to senior management.
  • Prepare reports for monthly executive meeting
