To provide comprehensive and efficient financial and administrative services for Suffolk Community Forum

The role of the Support Worker will be to:

  • Administer computerised payroll and accounting systems for the Forum
  • Produce updated financial reports and returns for both the Forum and funders
  • Keep up to date and accurate records of all financial transactions for the Forum
  • Provide administrative support and assistance to Suffolk Community Forum
  • Keep up to date and accurate records of all financial transactions for the Forum
  • Produce budgets and expenditure forecasts for the Forum
  • Organise computer network maintenance, security and data backups
  • Purchase and maintain office equipment and stationery.
  • Take minutes at meetings when necessary
  • Assist with catering / hospitality arrangements
  • Undertake such other reasonable duties as shall from time to time be required

Person Specification


  • Must be adept in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Must have up to date knowledge and experience of SAGE computerised payroll and accounting systems, preferably with SAGE LINE 50
  • Financial management experience including familiarity with spreadsheets, budgets and accounts.
  • Experience of having worked in a busy office environment for at least one year within the last three years using Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience of handling grants and monitoring returns
  • Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to work under pressure, under own initiative,  re-prioritising when necessary
  • Experience of handling difficult issues with sensitivity and confidentiality.


  • A knowledge of funders and statutory agencies
  • An understanding of the issues affecting Belfast’s interface communities
