Essential

Qualifications/Experience

• NVQ III in Childcare/Early Years/CCLD or equivalent.

• Two years continuous work experience of working with children (0-16yrs) and mothers, within a community development setting.

• Experience of working with families in a group work setting.

• Experience of working with at risk children and their families

• Experience of working with teenage girls

• A minimum of GCSE English or equivalent

• ICT qualification

Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of child development

• Knowledge and understanding of the child protection process and an ability to manage confidential information

• An understanding of the support needs of families within the Colin area and the issues, which may confront them.

• An understanding of the rights of children and an ability to incorporate this into working practices

• A high level of organisational and time management skills and, an ability to prioritise and work under pressure

• An ability to work effectively in a team and with teams

• An ability to lead and motivate others

 Other

• The post holder must have access to a car or another form of transport that allows the postholder to carry out the travelling requirements for the post.

• A commitment to the ethos and values of Footprints Women’s Centre.
