To support deaf and hard of hearing people to secure sustainable employment opportunities and achieve positive outcomes through participation in programmes which Action on Hearing loss is contracted to deliver, by the Department for Employment & Learning.

Assist relevant participants with job seeking and job retention

• Liase and network with key referral agents to source information on specific participants.

• Identify suitable and appropriate employment opportunities for participants and match participants to these, ensuring that appropriate support is in place

• Regularly monitor and review participants , providing support as required both to participants employers and training providers

• Provide support as required to relevant partners using the mode of Supported Employment

• Provide a range of pre-employment support interventions for relevant participants

• Liaise with families, carers and other appropriate persons or agencies involved in the support and development of each participant.

• Ensure an individual development / support plan is developed and implemented for all programme participants

• Maintain accurate, up to date records of participants’ progress.

• Ensure optimum occupancy within programmes to meet contract compliance

• Market and promote programmes both externally to key organisations and individuals and internally to relevant service users and staff

• Liaise as appropriate with DEL personnel and other partners and comply with administration procedures as required

• Developing inter-departmental knowledge to increase commercial gain for the organisation.

• Continually update your own knowledge on opportunities and support available so that you are giving accurate information and advice to deaf people, hard of hearing people and service providers. .

• This job will entail some work out of normal office hours and you may be asked to represent the Team Leader at meetings or complete any other duties and responsibilities that are commensurate with this role.
