EmployAbility South aims to support long-term unemployed, economically inactive/workless and under-employed people living in 16 identified SOA in South Belfast; The project will work with 375 people  in a structured learning and development programme  with 200 participants progressing to a 13 week employed placement opportunity with an employer   in one of the identified industry sectors, with 50 participants progressing to sustainable employment over the lifetime of the project.. GEMS NI is seeking a Project Support Worker for EmployAbility South.  The main purpose of the post is to provide a project support service for the EmployAbility South project across its key work areas, supporting project tasks and activities and providing administrative support to the project manager and team.

The main duties of this post are:

  • Support the administration and communications and associated tasks within the EmployAbility South Project providing a service to the Project Manager and Team
  • Support the maintenance of EmployAbility South data collection and filing systems ensuring information is up to date and accurate; (Training will be provided)
  • Update the EmployAbility South Facebook Page and Twitter Account to include good news stories, events, job and training opportunities
  • Support the collection and processing of information, timesheets etc; for participants on in-work placements and prepare for approval for payments processing.
  • Engage with and implement the registration process for potential new clients at their point of entry to the service
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of reports, minutes, briefing papers and other documentation associated with the project
  • Assist with the administration of the EmployAbility South Participant CV storage and allocation system
  • Assist with the administration of the EmployAbility South Job Portal
  • Provide scheduling for  EmployAbility South work placement progress reviews
  • Maintain accurate records of all engagements and work undertaken with participants/employers and ensure the accuracy and completion of all administrative forms, reports etc. is provided in a timely manner.
