The EastSide Arts Manager role is critical to the delivery of arts in the east of the city and we are seeking a manager who will develop and deliver the EastSide Arts strategy.

The main purpose of the role is to combine leadership in,and management of,EastSide Arts to effectively deliver the Arts Strategy for East Belfast.

The following gives an indication of the current main duties and responsibilities of the post. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and carry out any other duties appropriate to the role which may reasonably be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be expected:

  • To take the lead in shaping the delivery of the arts in the EastSide area, in line with the EastSide Arts Strategy
  • To advise the Board of EastSide Arts and relevant staff in EastSide Partnership on all relevant matters relating to the arts in east Belfast, across the city and within Northern Ireland
  • To provide support to organisations, artists and venues in promoting the arts in east Belfast
  • To propose, design and deliver a programme of arts festivals and other arts activities agreed with the board and executive
  • To develop budgets for approval and manage efficiently and securely the finances and budgets within the agreed budget
  • To comply with the organisational, financial and administrative requirements of EastSide Partnership whilst at the same time carrying out all her/his own administrative tasks
  • To liaise with, advise and assist where appropriate other arts providers in east Belfast
  • To identify, apply for and secure annual and other funding from; the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Belfast City Council,business sponsors and appropriate Charitable Trusts and Foundations
  • To support the EastSide Arts Board and Executive in the development and implementation of organisational policies, programmes and strategies,arranging regular meetings, providing information, taking and distributing minutes and writing Board papers etc
  • To design and produce publicity leaflets, up-date website, manage media and  social media and promote the activities of EastSide Arts, reinforcing the brand
  • Initiate, build, maintain and develop relationships with partner organisations within Northern Ireland
