Then post holder will be responsible for the overall health, safety and well-being of the children being cared for by childcare staff employed by SACC in a range of settings.

  • To promote the ethos of South Armagh Childcare Consortium and be responsible for safeguarding and health and safety management across all elements of childcare delivery.
  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times, and all written records are appropriately maintained in accordance with guidance from the Southern Health & Social Care Trust.
  • To provide advice to the Board on the range of training available to meet the needs of SACC childcare staff, and carry out a regular skills audit of all SACC childcare workers.
  • To ensure that all staff are properly trained in all relevant procedures which will include health and safety, equal opportunities and safeguarding of children in order to ensure safe and effective delivery of all aspects of programme and service delivery.
  • To advise on the delivery and evaluation of programmes for children, and ensure a safe, stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities are provided for children.
  • To provide supervision to childcare leaders and provide support to the Manager on the management, training and placement of all childcare staff.

 

  • To develop, maintain and review all relevant policies and procedures in relation to children and ensure compliance with all relevant early years’ legislation.
