War on Want NI is a local charity working in Africa with people in their struggle against poverty, hunger and injustice and wishes to make the following appointment:

Director

The person appointed will lead the organisation, sustaining a highly skilled workforce committed to the achievement of the best outcomes and value for those marginalised people with whom we work.  He/she will have responsibility for ensuring that funds are available enabling the organisation to deliver its strategic commitment with both overseas and homebased programmes in compliance with funders and regulators while ensuring optimum outcomes.  

Applicants must have:

• Experience in a senior management position including strategy development  and staff leadership
• Successful experience of attracting statutory and non statutory income and ability to write effective reports for funders
• Successful experience of networking and campaigning
• A proven track record of achieving or exceeding unrestricted income and profitability targets

Salary NJC point 47 – 52 plus pension package
