General administration and development work for an Armagh-based arts organisation delivering education programmes and projects in traditional music, and running an annual international piping festival.

Project Management

  • ·        Monitoring contract compliance, progress and budget of all ongoing projects.
  • ·        Completing reports and requesting grant draw downs.
  • ·        Innovation and new project partnership ideas.
  • ·        Fundraising through grants and business sponsorship.
  • ·        Creation and monitoring of contracts for external tutors / artists / design etc.

Development

  • ·        Develop range of activities in new premises.
  • ·        Management of Irish language, Gaidhlig language and other outreach activities.
  • ·        Relationship building within the sector - Attendance at training, information and networking events.
  • ·        Maintaining social media profile, creating monthly newsletters and all other promotion and publicity as required.
  • ·        Research and create policies in line with NICVA best practice and comply with legislation to strengthen governance.

Administration

  • ·        Management of a fully functional office; responding to incoming emails, social media messages and telephone calls, management of paper and electronic files.
  • ·        Recording of incoming and outgoing payments in preparation for submission of annual accounts
  • ·        Organisation of registration documents and payments.
  • ·        Organisation of instrument loans and payments.
  • ·        Documentation for exam registrations.
  • ·        Reproduction of music documents / CDs etc.
  • ·        Preparing reports for committee meetings

Work arrangements

  • ·        The work is currently undertaken on a self-employed contract, with the contractor responsible for their own tax and NI, but a key objective is to secure funding to reconfigurate this as an employed position
  • ·        Generally expected to be on the premises during business hours, but must be available for occasional evening and weekend work, and working from home can be agreed.
  • ·        Hours worked to be recorded and a timesheet submitted along with monthly invoice, for the hours actually worked in that month; over the course of the year the hours worked should average out at 135 hours per month
  • ·        Reports to the Director and, on the educational programme, to the Director of Music; liaises as required with committee officers
