Young Enterprise are recruiting an enthusiastic individual to facilitate the high quality delivery of Young Enterprise NI business education programmes in schools across the Southern area.

Young Enterprise, the leading business education charity helps more than 100,000 young people aged 4-25 each year to understand how business works, delivering its programmes in schools and colleges throughout the country, supported by a network of volunteers from the world of business.

The Development Officer will facilitate the high quality delivery of enterprise programmes to a targeted number of young people aged 4 - 25, which will involve maintaining and developing excellent relationships with key stakeholders in the Southern area. The schools you will be working with will be across Newry, Dungannon, Armagh, Lurgan, Kilkeel and Crossmaglen. When not delivering training or travelling as part of the role, the post holder will be based in an office in Moira. The role is full time, Mon – Fri 9am - 5pm (36.25 hrs per week) and is fixed term for one year. It is available from 17 November 2014 until 27 November 2015. 

 

Essential criteria: 

  • Third level education e.g. HND, degree andminimum of one year relevant experience or three years relevant experience (please refer to job description)
  •  Experience of working with young people (either in a voluntary or employed capacity) 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, including presentation delivery and report writing 
  • IT literate –proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications, including any relevant recognised IT qualification e.g. ECDL 
  • Evidence of successfully meeting targets and deadlines
  • Access to a car/own transport facilities and where applicable, a current valid driving licence and willing to travel across Southern area and other areas as required.

Desirable criteria: 

  • Experience of volunteer management, training and recruitment 
  • Experience of working in the business and/or education sector in Northern Ireland and knowledge of these networks 
  • Evidence of successfully meeting targets and deadlines 
  • Recognised relevant training or facilitation qualification.
