Young Enterprise are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to coordinate relationships between schools and business volunteers & manage a small team to ensure the high quality delivery of enterprise programmes to young people in the NorthEast area
Young Enterprise, the leading business education charity helps more than 100,000 young people aged 4-25 each year to understand how business works, delivering its programmes in schools and colleges throughout the country, supported by a network of volunteers from the world of business.
The successful candidate must be motivated, professional, work effectively within a team and be self-managing, possessing the ability to manage their own time and work independently.
The Development Manager will coordinate relationships between schools and business volunteers to participate in our programmes and manage a small team to ensure the high quality delivery of enterprise programmes to young people aged 4 – 25 in the North East area. The post holder will be based in an office in Newtownabbey with travel across the North East area as required,including Carrickfergus, Larne, Antrim, Ballymena and Ballycastle, to meet with volunteers and schools. The role is for a fixed term and is available as soon as possible until 31 August 2016 and is full time. The hours will be Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm.
Person specification
Essential criteria:
- Third level education e.g. HND, degree and minimum of one year relevant work experience; or three years relevant work experience.
Relevant work experience must include:
a) Building and maintaining effective and positive working relationships
b) Delivery of quality customer service
c) Having taken ownership and accountability of a particular area of work and achieve results
- Ability to convince and influence others
- Experience of leading a team to work collaboratively and achieve results
- At least 6 months experience of regularly working with young people on a day-to-day basis (either in a voluntary or employed capacity).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include:
a) Producing written reports
b) Written and verbal correspondence
c) Presentation delivery to a range of audiences
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- IT literate
- Access to a car/own transport facilities and where applicable, a current valid driving licence and willing to travel across Southern area and other areas as required.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of line management responsibilities, supervision of staff and/or working towards a management qualification.
- Recognised relevant training delivery or facilitation qualification
- Experience of networking in the business and/or education sector in Northern Ireland
