Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Dementia affects over 800,000 people in the UK alone and numbers continue to grow.
This Big Lottery Funded project is an opportunity for people diagnosed with dementia and their carers to come to a safe and understanding environment. At the Memories Cafe they will meet friendly, supportive people living with dementia, spend time sharing information and experiences and take part in fulfilling activities.
We are looking for a motivated and creative individual who will provide support and information and facilitate a range of activities for people with dementia and carers across the Newry, Mourne, Craigavon and Armagh Council areas. The post will be based in Newry and the successful candidate will be expected to travel frequently within the surrounding area.
You will ensure that delivery is always high quality and that it is appropriate for people with dementia, their carers and families.
Salary: £9,675 actual per annum
Hours: 17.5 per week
Contract type: Fixed Term - until 29 September 2016, with the potential to extend
