Concern Worldwide is looking for volunteers to help judge secondary school debates across NI next year. If you’ve an interest in public speaking and are passionate about supporting youth development, then please get in touch.

A new debating competition is launching across Northern Ireland’s schools and we need your help to provide judging panels for each fixture.  Starting next year schools will be battling it out to become the champion and on route tackling big global issues. 

By taking part you'll be helping students to improve public speaking giving them confidence in the working world. 

 This is a great opportunity to help promote youth development. 

Skills Needed

  • Ability to see both sides of an argument and keep an open mind
  • Being a good listener
  • Evaluating an argument according to a criteria
  • Being able to give constructive, positive feedback
  • Good time keeping
  • Being reliable

Other features

  • Minimum commitment to 2 debates (weekday evenings)
  • A passion for public speaking/debating
  • An interest in global issues

  • We’ll provide you with training

Where?

Across 3 areas including the North Coast, Mid-Ulster and Greater Belfast.

When?

Competitions starting in January until April 2015. 

Training evenings from now up to the second week of January.
