Confidence Building Co-ordinator (Need To Talk)

This is an exciting opportunity to use your organisational skills and experience of working with disabled people to play a key role helping people with sight loss to build their confidence levels, increase their independence and to be inclusive in their local community, as part of our Need to Talk programme.

Need to Talk (NTT) is a cross border counselling, confidence building and peer support programme for people with sight loss across Northern Ireland (NI), Ayrshire & Arran, part of Highlands & Islands in Western Scotland (WSc) and the Border Counties of Ireland (BCI). NTT is a partnership between RNIB (in NI and WSc) and Fighting Blindness (FB) in BCI and is funded via the INTERREG VA Programme.

As Confidence Building Coordinator, you will lead on the organisation and delivery of face-to-face confidence building programmes as well as the delivery of digital/telephone confidence building programmes.

This will include assessing the safety of community venues, ensuring programmes run to budget, recruiting, training and managing volunteers as well as conducting needs assessments on people who wish to partake in the programme.

If you have experience leading and delivering structured group work for people with disabilities and can motivate and empower others to make a difference we would be delighted to hear from you.

In exchange we offer a competitive salary, a stimulating and supportive working environment and a benefits package including:

  • 26 days holiday per year (plus bank holidays), which increase with service
  • Excellent pension schemes
