Charity wishes to appoint a Children's Advocate to provide an independent advice and advocacy service for families of children with special educational needs and disability on the special educational needs system in Northern Ireland
The Special Educational Needs Advice Centre (SENAC) is a charity supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their parents. SENAC provides independent advice, information and advocacy relating to the special educational needs system in Northern Ireland.
SENAC wish to recruit a :
CHILDREN’S ADVOCATE
The Children’s Advocate will:
Provide an independent advice and advocacy service for families of children with special educational needs and disability on the special educational needs system in Northern Ireland and advocate for children and young people with special educational needs and disability in relation to special educational needs provision.
Fixed Term: 22 months @32 hours per week
Salary £24,943 per annum in Year 1
Essential criteria for all applicants include:
- Have a degree in one of the following: Education, Law, Psychology, Social Work, Human Rights, Youth Work, Child Development Studies or Special Needs.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of providing advocacy or legal advice in an employed capacity
- Ability to manage own casework effectively
