Campaigns Officer

We seek radical change in policy and provision across eye health and social care, access to information and culture, incomes/benefits and employment.

As Campaigns Officer you will coordinate RNIB NI’s operational campaigning activities, including liaising with Government Departments, MLAs and other disability campaigning organisations in Northern Ireland.

You will provide proactive support to the Campaigns and Research Manager and senior management in the preparation of policy responses, briefings and presentations to Government departments, Assembly Committees and other relevant organisations, and keep abreast of research and policy in the area of sight loss and assist in undertaking research projects in Northern Ireland.

To excel in this role you will need:

• Experience of campaigning work

• Knowledge of the workings of the Northern Ireland Assembly and experience of communicating campaigning messages to MLA's/MP’s and Government Departments; 

• Experience of attending, presenting and organising conferences, seminars and campaigning events;

•  Knowledge of significant pieces of policy and legislation that seek to enhance and protect the rights of blind and partially sighted citizens in Northern Ireland.
