The Support Worker is part of the staff team, providing services for adults who have learning disabilities and associated conditions within the registered residential home.
Hours: Relief hours (as and when required)
Salary: £6.54 per hour
Contract: As and when required
Location: Karuna, 3/5 Minorca Drive, Carrickfergus, BT38 8WP
Essential: Numeracy & literacy (English language) skills.
Maths and English GCSE at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
Registered or applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council.
Demonstrable evidence of 6 months experience of providing physical care / support for individuals within the last 2 years.
6 months experience of paid employment in a care role or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience in informal or voluntary support / care work.
Available to work nights including weekend nights as required
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to undertake mandatory training.
Willingness to partake in personal development.
Ability to use initiative
Effective communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full
Caring & reliable
Desirable: NVQ level II or equivalent
Experience of working as part of a team.
Knowledge of RQIA (Regulation & Quality Improvement Authority)
Knowledge of Learning Disability and associated conditions.
