ASSISTANT SUPPORT OFFICERS (x2) - HOMELESS SERVICES TEAM

Assistant Support Officers (ASO) provide accommodation and support services to vulnerable homeless families in a temporary accommodation setting. Our Homeless Services Schemes are based in Moyard House, West Belfast, and Roseville House, South Belfast. One post based out of Moyard House is night working only and is a 20 hour post. The second position is mainly for weekend and evening cover, is based at Roseville House and is contracted for 24 hours per week.

 As an ASO, you will work as a member of a small team and ensure that quality accommodation and support services are provided to all service users. You will be required to work shifts allocated on a rota system and experience in a similar type of environment would be an advantage. 

 The successful applicant is likely to have the following:

• A minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent qualification including English & Maths
• A minimum 6 months experience working with vulnerable groups in similar environment
• An understanding of current homeless/housing and /or other social issues
• Ability to demonstrate working on your own initiative and as a member of a team
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills
• Be IT literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

 Ark Housing is a Living Wage employer and the rate of remuneration for this position is currently at £8.45 per hour. Annual leave entitlement is based on the number of actual hours worked and a generous employer pension option is available with the position.
