2 x RESEARCH OFFICER Ref: RO (MC)'10

Full-time, Fixed-term 9 month Maternity Cover posts.

Salary equivalent to NJC pay scale points 29, £24,646

Commencing April/May 2010 & June/July 2010

The posts are an excellent development opportunity for any research professional. Both roles allow the individuals to develop their research and policy development skills within an economic, social, cultural and environmental setting, while also affording them the opportunity to liaise and build working relationships with a diverse and wide range of voluntary and community organisations and statutory bodies.

The Research Officers will develop the NICVA research and policy programme to provide economic, social, cultural and environmental data on the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland. The role also includes developing and carrying out analysis of the work of the voluntary and community sector and supporting, developing and promoting research and policy work by the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years experience in a research capacity to include devising appropriate methodologies and using both qualitative and quantitative techniques; experience of producing high quality research reports; a third level qualification in a relevant discipline; and be computer literate to include extensive experience of, and expertise in, statistical analyses, in particular SPSS.
