
The Department for Social Development has launched an interim website for the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland.
Charity Trustees are not being provided with sufficient information or training in order to cope with the expected effects of recession, according to the Baker Tilly Voluntary Sector Governance Survey 2008, published in association with Charity Finance and governance magazines.

The new Charities Bill for Northern Ireland was introduced to the Assembly on 10 December 2007. This will replace the draft Charities (NI) Order 2007. This new bill has stringent requirements for the accounting records which Charities have to keep.
