This month’s round-up

Spring has sprung a few surprises on us, with Peace III finally arriving, although its shape and scope are still to be finalised, and the announcement of a £14 million fund for children’s projects. NICVA has launched its first report on the impact of Positive Steps, with most people thinking that it will have some impact on their organisation, although opinion is divided about whether this will be positive or negative.

Environmentalists cheered the appointment of a new environmental review panel, following the sector’s Macrory Report, which called for the setting up of an environmental protection agency, while the Management and Leadership Development Strategy for Northern Ireland team is leading the way with a consultation on training needs in the voluntary and community sector.

Awards season has arrived with The National Lottery seeking to reward your favourite Lottery funded project, our own SCOPE Communication Awards for the best publication, the Shell Livewire award for young entrepreneurs and not forgetting Northern Ireland’s Charity Oscars, the Link Awards, details of which will be announced soon.

The big training news this month is the announcement of another round of the Management Development Programme and NICVA’s Members’ Day when experts in finance and human resources will come to your aid. And don’t forget to make your mark at the inspirational Management Development Conference ...
