Over a number of years the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, NICVA, theRural Community Network and WEA have collaborated in exploring what additional support is needed for community development in Northern Ireland.
The four organisations want to see how community development practice can be improved and shared across those working at grassroots level in Northern Ireland.
To inform the discussion, the Community Foundation, NICVA, Rural Community Network and WEA commissioned Brian Harvey to carry out some research on their behalf. That research has now been completed and was published under the title "Models for a Reflective Centre for Community Development in Northern Ireland".
The four organisations will now consult with people working in the area of community development to see what mechanisms might be put in place for their support.
