Peace II and BSP – No Improvements in Sight
There is an increasing sense of frustration and resentment building up across the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland as the continuing delays, bureaucracy and complexities of European Programmes seems to be getting worse rather than better. Individual organisations which have struggled on for many months are losing highly-experienced staff if not through direct redundancy then as result of the uncertainties and lack of stability in the sector.
Even those organisations which have successfully made it through the complex application process cannot relax, as they now face the reality of managing an EU-funded project with increasingly burdensome bureaucratic demands.
