NICVA expresses its concern to MEPs
NICVA has recently had meetings with two of the MEPs for NI, John Hume and Jim Nicholson. The meetings were requested to gain support for a lobbying campaign against Peace II. The aim is to let the representatives understand the difficulties that have recently been uncovered within the programme. A research report highlighting the conclusions drawn from the sector sample will be issued by the end of November.
Further discussions regarding the review of the application form are to take place starting with the Peace II monitoring committee, and also with the current evaluation being carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Proposals are being put in place to determine whether NICVA will bring their findings to the European Parliament in Brussels in order to lobby for a review of the programme.
